PETG
Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate Glycol
1 min read
It is a thermoplastic polymer. It is similar to usual PET bottles except that Glycol is added to the polymer to get different properties. It is good for snap-fit applications. It has advantages of both ABS & PLA.
Specifications
Printing/nozzle temperature: 220°C – 250°C
Print bed temperature: 50°C – 75°C
Benefits
Stronger & temperature resistant like ABS, easier to print like PLA
Shrinkage/warping is minimal
Less brittle, clearer and easier to use than PET
Durable, impact-resistant
Can be sterilized (food grade) and recyclable
Excellent layer adhesion
Limitations
Weakened by UV light
Prone to scratching
Relatively less tested with parameters compared to other older materials
Susceptible to moisture so has to be kept dry
